The 1650 hectare Ubizane Wildlife Reserve is situated in the Hluhluwe region of Zululand in the Kingdom of Kwazulu Natal, South Africa and lies in close proximity to South Africa's oldest Game Reserve, Hluhluwe/Umfolozi.

Game on the Ubizane Wildlife Reserve includes rhino, giraffe, zebra, nyala, impala, wildebeest and over 350 species of birdlife have been identified on the reserve. But is also the smaller creatures and plant life that inhabit the land that make game viewing in Ubizane an experience to remember.

Set in the heart of the Ubizane Wildlife Reserve, Safari Lodge is a luxurious traditional African reserve, with its dining boma, swimming pool and comfortable thatched rondavels, looking up at the sweep of Ubizane mountain. Full conference facilities are available for groups of up to 60 people. The lodge consists of 18 thatched chalets offering accommodation for either two, or in the larger units, two adults and two children.

Daily excursions into Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserves offer guests the opportunity of viewing a wide assortment of African wildlife including the BIG-5 whilst more intimate safaris in game vehicles, on foot or on horseback are offered in the Ubizane Reserve itself. The guides will intrigue you with the habits of different spiders, how the indigenous people use different plants and identify birds by their calls. Game viewing in open game viewing vehicles is usually reserved for the early mornings and late afternoons when the animals become more active after sheltering in the shade of the bush during the heat of the day. Those looking to get really close to nature can embark on foot with a trained game ranger to see the wonders of the African bush close up. The foot safaris are ideal for all and give guests the opportunity of truly experiencing the African bush. For novice and experienced horseman the horseback safaris add a whole new dimension to game viewing. The wildlife seem totally at ease with the horses and guests have an opportunity of getting close up to the game.
