Saadani National Park is located on Tanzania's southern Mkwaja coastline, and can be reached by road from Dar es Salaam in 4.5 hours by road or 30 minutes by air. Flights from Zanzibar are also available, and these are only 20 minutes to Saadani's aistrip.

The bird watching in this area is superb, with many rare species here. Although the wildlife here is not as abundant as other parks in the region, there is the unique opportunity to see elephants on the beach! You can also see antelopes (including black sable), the occasional lion, giraffe, reedbuck, waterbuck, eland, zebra, buffalo, warthog and more. The boating safaris allow you to get close to hippos, crocodiles and an abundance of water birds.

There are 8 individual tented bandas, raised on stilts and decorated in solid, beautiful wooden finishings. Each has its own ensuite bathroom with hot and cold water showers and flush toilets. Each room also has mosquito nets and your own private balcony, with a hammock to relax in. These wonderful bandas are designed so that you can watch the sun rise over the ocean from the comfort of your own bed - bliss! The restaurant serves fresh and imaginative meals, featuring the stunning local seafood (including lobster) with fresh produce from the Lodge's garden.
