ZULULAND CLIMATE |
Zululand in particular enjoys a warm sub-tropical
climate for most part of the year. Summer (Nov-Feb)
temperatures are hot, from 24-30 degrees Celsius
and the winter climate is magnificent, dry, warm
and sunny between June and September.

Twisted
into this enlivening region of South Africa is a captivating
history of battle. The turbulent past saw some for the
fiercest confrontations in the pioneering struggle for
land.
The dominant Zulu nation was born midst
this time of turmoil. In the brief, bloody clash with
Boer settlers they then took on the British soldiers
during the 12 month Anglo-Zulu War.
In 1879, the powerful Zulu warriors
faced up to the full force of the British military invasion,
who sustained major casualties before concurring the
Zulu warrior-king Cetshwayo.
All visitors interested in military
history will discover a well preserved testament to
this torrid period as local narrators present an account
which relives the spin chilling events of the brutal
conflicts. |

Nowadays, the Zulus continue as a proud, welcoming
nation who have kept their traditional identity. Their fine
craftsmanship is expressed in their pottery, beadwork, and
woodwork.
