PRETORIA CLIMATE |
In summer, the days warm and the nights pleasingly
cool. In winter, the nights can get quite cool,
even below zero at times.
The winter days are very pleasant with warm sunshine
and average daily temperatures of 24 degrees. It
only rains in summer from October to March.
Pretoria, which is about 60 km north of Johannesburg,
is generally a couple of degrees warmer owing to
the lower altitude.

Pretoria
– popularly referred to as the Jacaranda City,
is an attractive, tranquil city.
The charming historical buildings have
been well preserved.
The Museums have wonderful natural history exhibits.
What is of particular interest and significance is the
fossil of Mrs Ples, discovered at Sterkfontein Caves,
which is regarded as the Cradle of Mankind.
Other places of interest are the exquisite
Union Buildings which house the administrative seat
of Government as well as the Voortrekker Monument which
is a major symbol of the Afrikaner
People.
