PORT
ELIZABETH - GENERAL INFORMATION |
The city of Port Elizabeth is the gateway to Settler
Country - a frontier region which once saw numerous
wars and clashes between English settlers and the
Xhosa inhabitants.
A short drive north of Port Elizabeth is the Addo
Elephant Park, which is also home to buffalo and black
rhino and many buck species, while nearby Shamwari
Private Game Reserve provides an exclusive encounter
with Africa and her creatures.
Port Elizabeth is linked by air to all South Africa's
major cities, and thus makes an excellent starting
point for a tour through the Garden Route to Cape
Town.
