The north-eastern
region of Kwa-Zulu Natal is the remote location of Ndumo
Game Reserve and Tembe Elephant Reserve.
The fine-looking fever trees dominate the spectacular
landscape of lush sub-tropical vegetation.
The Ndumo reserve is characterized
by two large pans; Banzi and Shokwe, are residence to
an affluent variety of animals, birds and plants, as
well as abundant crocodiles and hippos.
The private Ndumo Wilderness Camp with
its elevated deck overlooks the rich pans teeming with
birdlife. The area brags a remarkable bird list of 420
species, South Africa’s leading bird watching
locations.
Tembe Elephant Park is a sanctuary
for the last free-ranging elephant populations in South
Africa.
