In this sub-tropical area during the rainy season,
the climate gets warm and humid during the summer
months between October and March. Thunderstorms
are common during this time.
The dry season lasts throughout the winter months
of April to September and the temperatures are very
pleasurable with warm days and cool nights.

A sequence
of lakes, wetland, coral reefs and isolated beaches
make the north-eastern corner of Kwa-Zulu Natal a tropical
delight of unrivaled qualities.
Lake Sibaya with its large population
hippo and crocs is the countries largest fresh water
lake.
To the north, Kosi Bay is a remote
wilderness area with pristine beaches and rich wildlife.
Rocktail Bay offers some of the best private Scuba diving
and snorkeling opportunities along the coast.
It is also one of the best salt water fishing location
with vast beached shoreline to explore.
In summer, nocturnal excursions are
arranged to watch the turtles that come ashore to lay
their eggs.

Kosi area, is an area to experience the age-old
indigenous method of fishing with traps. The locals here have
used this technique for more than half a century.
Maputaland is famous for its sunrises, unique flora and fascinating
wildlife, rich coral reefs and endless beaches. It is a world
