MAGALIESBERG CLIMATE |
Magaliesberg is situated in a summer rainfall area,
at an altitude of 1700 meters above sea level.
Rainfall in the summer months happens in the form
of afternoons thunderstorms. The rain comes in isolated
showers which last for a brief period and then clears
as quickly as it arrived.
The mean daily temperature in January, which is
the peak of summer, is in the region of about 25°
C. Owing to the high altitude of the Magaliesberg
area, the humidity is relatively low. The UV factor
here at times is considered very dangerous.
The peak winter months of June and July have daytime
temperatures averaging at 16° C. The winter
evenings and early mornings can become more extreme
with the mercury dropping to below freezing point
for short periods.
