MADIKWE CLIMATE |
Rainfall occurs from October to April with the
peak period between November and February.
Daytime temperatures in summer are hot and at times
humid with an average daily temperature of 31°C.
The dry winter months of May to September are pleasant
and crisp with the evening temperatures getting
to a minimum of 2°C and daytime highs of about
22°C.

MADIKWE
- GENERAL INFORMATION |
Madikwe Game Reserve is
a mere stone throw from the Botswana border, with Gaborone
being is the closest major centre.
The park, comprises rehabilitated farm land, which became
consolidated into the present reserve.
This area saw one of the greatest wildlife re-stocking
programs.
“Operation Phoenix” as it was called repopulated
Madikwe with all the naturally occurring animals which
included all the big five and as well as wild dog, hyena,
giraffe, cheetah and numerous antelope species.
Today Madikwe offers a notable safari experience with
an infrastructure of some of the finest lodges in South
Africa.

| The 70 000 hectare game park is easily reached from Sun City
or Johannesburg by road or air charter. Public access is restricted
however the range of accommodation within the park offers a
choice of service and comfort levels. |
