Dry
Season: The winter months from April to September
are particularly good. The days are warm and dry and
the nights cold. The best game viewing season is definitely
autumn and winter, when the vegetation becomes bare,
and water is limited to rivers and artificial waterholes.
Rainy Season: The subtropical
climate causes hot rainy summers which start in
October and ending around March. The summer rains
convert the dry reserve into a green paradise, but
the thick bush does make animals more difficult
to see.

NATIONAL PARK- GENERAL INFORMATION |
Kruger is one of the world's oldest and famous National
Parks. It boasts the greatest variety of animals of
any Southern African park. A new development within
the park has been the establishment of private concessions
to a small number of principal lodge operators, providing
a luxury bush experience.
The park offers a budget option for self-drive and
self-catering visitors.
The public rest camps provide most of the necessary
infrastructure for a cost effective bush holiday.
The roads are tarred and the routes through the park
are well illustrated and easy to follow with the aid
of the information provided.
The rules within the park are strictly enforced and
no vehicles are permitted to leave the road. Special
guided excursions and night drives are organized by
the park rangers.

| Travelers who want to undertake a self drive tour of Kruger
National Park, can fly from Johannesburg to the new Kruger Mpumalanga
International Airport, which has a frequent scheduled flight
service. Vehicles are available for hire and the park is short
drive from the airport. |
