KIMBERLEY
CLIMATE |
The climate around Kimberley is typical of the
Karoo region and South African interior.
The conditions can be extreme at times, with the
weather providing hot wet summers (December to February)
and calm dry winters (June to August).
The sporadic summer rains are likely to take the
form of occasional severe thunderstorms rather than
prolonged soft showers.
It is not extraordinary for winter night-time temperatures
to plummet below freezing.

KIMBERLEY
- GENERAL INFORMATION |
Kimberley is a jewel of a city. There is a rich history
of early fortune hunters being lured to the area with
the hope that the discovery of diamonds would make
them rich. Some of the most intense battles between
the British and Afrikaner place around Kimberley.
Besides this colorful past, the landscape and habitat
has something unique to offer. If you are seeking
solitude you can still find it here in the wide-open
plains. The spectacular sunsets, the rich animals
and bird life, the stunning scenery, the archeological
wealth and the cultural heritage of the area is truly
amazing.
The luxurious Blue Train and Rovos Rail pass through
Kimberley, while en route between Pretoria and Cape
Town
It is well worth taking the time to explore what
Kimberley has to offer.
