CLIMATE |
The cooler winter months are from April to September
and are possibly the premium time to explore the
Kalahari.
The days are clear and warm, but the night time
temperatures can get very frosty.
Summers here can become unbearable.
January is extreme month when temperatures rise
well above 40 degrees Celsius. The hot periods are
usually followed by a thunderstorm.
Spring and early summer from September to December
is dry and warm. Relentless drought conditions can
prevail for long periods. Water is the key to life
here.

GENERAL INFORMATION |
Enthusiasts of untamed African wilderness, will find
the Kalagadi Trans frontier Park a astonishing destination.
The efforts to join the former Kalahari Gemsbok Park
with the adjoining reserve in Botswana, has been a
great success.
Visitors can now enter the park at one point and move
freely around the whole area. If you wish to have
full benefit of the whole reserve it is advisable
to travel with a well equipped 4x4.
The park is distinguished by vast undulating red
sand dunes, singular trees and strewn grassland. Many
rate it as one of the best game reserves in Africa.
A seasonal migration of animals in search of water
and grazing occurs here on a minor scale when compared
with the Serengeti.

The spectacle of thousands of antelope galloping as one
across the sands is one of the ultimate game-viewing occurrences.
The park is the best places in South Africa to observing
large birds of prey.
