Dry Season: The dry season extends
over winter months from May to August and the
temperatures are very pleasing with warm days
and fresh evenings.
Rainy Season: The sub-tropical
is conducive to hot and humid conditions. The
main rainfall period is between September and
April.

- GENERAL INFORMATION |
Africa's first protected wildlife area. The habitat
form part of the woodland savanna, within an exquisite
countryside of rolling hills and forested valleys.
The region is particularly famous for the largest
collection of white and black rhino in the world.
This is also a Big 5 reserve and the vegetation
makes it easy to see animals throughout the year.
Hilltop Camp, is the main public camp in the reserve
and provides a high standard of accommodation with
the conveniences of a shop, petrol station and restaurant.
Various guided activities can be arranged from the
main camp.

If you want a more intimate experience in the reserve
it may be an option to consider one of the bush
lodges or one of the private lodges located near
the reserve which offer an all inclusive guided
experience.

Rhino sightings are a regular occurrence.
There is a good chance to see buffalo, wildebeest, zebra,
giraffe and the numerous antelope resident in the park.
Bird watching here is very rewarding especially in the summers. |
