DURBAN
- GENERAL INFORMATION |
South Africa's major port city, Durban, is a lively
city with a flamboyant and cosmopolitan populace.
The city's local beaches are famed for their excellent
swimming and surfing, and the recent revamp of the
golden mile promenade makes this a desirable holiday
destination. The area has many fine hotels and restaurants
including local entertainment and the wonderful recently
opened Ushaka aquarium.
The well-heeled Umhlanga Rocks, with its luxury resort
hotels, is an alternative beyond the city.
South Africa's largest Indian population resides
in Durban so the metropolis offers many fine oriental
restaurants. This is also a seafood lovers paradise.
