DRAKENSBERG
- GENERAL INFORMATION |
The Drakenberg derived from Dragon Mountain, is South
Africa's highest mountain range. The magnificent structure,
magic name, sparkling watercourses and rich fauna
and flora make for a nature lovers treat.
This craggy countryside, with its soaring mountains
and fresh air, has an invigorating effect on the human
spirit. To walks or ride horseback through the landscape
is an uplifting experience. The area has a wide choice
of accommodation establishments which range from resorts
to high end private lodges with every comfort imaginable.
The Drakenberg mountains, are richly endowed with
galleries of San rock art paintings. The overhanging
rocks and once inhabited caves sites have preserved
