CAPE
TOWN AND CAPE WINELANDS
Cape
Town nestles below the majestic Table Mountain on a glorious
Peninsula blessed with magnificent beaches and scenery
on a peninsula described by Sir Francis Drake as "The
Fairest Cape in all the circumference of the Earth".
The
mountain range sweeping down the Peninsula behind Table
Mountain is home to the most unique floral kingdom in
the world and the entire region is a declared National
Park. The area abounds with magnificent beaches - from
the trendy to the remote and pristine in the Cape
Point Nature Reserve, a glorious area of flora and fauna
and jagged cliffs where seabirds soar and ride the thermals.
The
Cape is lso home to the largest mainland colony of African
penguins, while between August and October, the Southern
Right Whales enter the protected waters to breed and give
birth.
Cape
Town is a dynamic city, with entertainment, shopping,
a vibrant night life and on the doorstep of the country's
premier wine regions, and makes an excellent destination
to end an African safari.
