Camping is often associated with a sense of nostalgia or of romanticism for 'the times of our fathers'. It simultaneously evokes images of 'oneness with nature' and 'man against nature' - independence and self-sufficiency. Camping may be referred to colloquially as roughing it. Here in Africa we have pioneered tented comfort in the context of a wilderness experience with world class services and luxury. National parks and other publicly owned natural areas of interest are popular venues for camping. Camps are usually semi permanent, which means that they can be removed from a site to allow it to naturalise again. This form of accommodation has the least impact on the environment and really affords visitors a personal encounter in a natural environment. Private Tented Camps offer guest privacy and total flexibility. Most camps are designed for only a small private party or a limited number of occupants. Setting up tented camps usually employs a large amount of effort and
automobiles to transport equipment. Sometimes pack animals, boats or bush
planes may be used. Luxury tented camps are as equipped as any standard
bush lodge. There are mess tents, en suite showers and toilets, full kitchen
and bar areas. There are no limits to the amount of comfort that is available.
The only constraints are your budget.
