My boyfriend and I were treated
to a fantastic stay at The Grande Roche Hotel in
Paarl.
The heat was unbelievable, and arriving at the hotel
was a welcome relief with immaculate gardens and
cool avenues of oak trees and squirrels scurrying
about.
We were welcomed with a drink in the foyer and then
shown to our room where we discovered a private
and beautifully luxuriously decorated room, where,
the attention to detail was obvious as the room
contained every luxury one could possibly imagine.
Some thoughtful soul had saved us from melting all
over the floor and put our air conditioner on and
placed an ice cold bucket with sparkling wine and
a delicious array of snacks, and a lovely fresh
fruit basket for us to enjoy.
Early evening we enjoyed sundowner drinks on our
private terrace and lounged about surveying the
spectacular view of the vineyards, whilst we enjoyed
the very welcome cool dusk breeze.
We enjoyed a night out on the town, where we dined
with friends at one of the many fine eating establishments
that can be found in and around Paarl.
Later that night we snuck out for a romantic midnight
swim.
The buffet breakfast at Bosmans Retsaurant the next
morning was out of this world, and offered a delightful
array of scrumptious pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurts,
hot breakfasts, oysters and champagne the list is
endless.
