·· Kenya Safaris:

Out of Africa

KENYA'S appeal as a safari destination is legendary, partly due to the appeal of movies such as "Born Free", "Out of Africa" and "White Mischief", which chronicled the decadent lifestyles of rich, idle expatriates. However, credit is due more to a very well managed wildlife and conservation program, which has seen Kenya's safari parks remain pristine and relatively free of the scourge of poaching as local communities coexist within these regions and parks, working together to protect their future.

A Kenya safari will delight the visitor with alluring landscapes and sweeping vistas of savannah grassland interspersed with Acacia thorn trees, which are home to a wide variety of wildlife living alongside local tribes, including majestic Masai warriors, a colorful and nomadic people with a proud history and tradition.

The most famous of these reserves is Masai Mara, which borders the Serengeti in Tanzania, and is home to the annual wildlife migration, when herds of over 2 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle trek across the rivers that separate these two great wildlife reserves in search of fresh grazing.

Among many Kenya safari attractions are the top destinations of Amboseli with its spectacular backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Closer to Nairobi is the alluring beauty of Mount Kenya, white the white sands of the Indian ocean beckon travelers to put their feet up, relax and unwind.

Kenya's capital of Nairobi is served by daily flights out of London and Amsterdam. It is best to access Kenya's wildlife safari regions on a scheduled flight out of Nairobi to a local airport rather than undertake a long drive along roads which are often grueling and bumpy. A Kenya safari is one of life's "must do" travel experiences.

NB: When considering a safari in Kenya, please be aware that East African parks and reserves have daily park fees per person of at least $100 - this is over and above the accommodation costs. There is also no public transport that can be taken to access the Kenya parks - to experience these areas you need a guide and vehicle, before you start looking at acommodation options. We not sell any low budget accommodation options in Kenya, so please be realistic in your cost expectations and we will always do our best to assist you.
