·· Safari Game Drives
WHAT HAPPENS ON A GAME DRIVE? HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN A VEHICLE? AN OPEN JEEP IS THE BEST WAY OF VIEWING WILDLIFE WHILE ON AN AFRICAN SAFARI.
Game drives are probably the most popular way to see wild animals
in their natural habitat. Typically you will leave your lodge or camp
either in the morning or afternoon and be driven slowly through the
bush to view game. Being in a robust four wheel drive vehicle specially
adapted for viewing game allows you to get close to some of the predators
and larger animals, safely. This gives you the opportunity to observe
them at close quarters as well as providing some wonderful photo opportunities.
We typically use companies who have only four to six people per vehicle and knowledgeable informative guides. If you prefer we can arrange for you to have your own private vehicle and guide. In some areas of Africa it is possible to organise night game drives. This is only possible on private land or in certain National Parks. A guide using a powerful light to spot wildlife will drive the vehicle, giving you an insight into the nocturnal habits of a wide range of species from leopards to owls, hunting lion to nocturnal aardvarks.
