·· Chobe Safari:
Mystical Rivers and Huge Herds
CHOBE National Park is an ideal companion wildlife destination for travelers visiting the Okavango in Botswana. It is also the most practical alternative for those with time restraints, as the area is easier to access for quick getaways than Okavango, as there are many direct daily flights from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls and Livingstone - which both serve as launch pads into the Chobe region.
The magnificent Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park form the nucleus of this ultimate African safari destination, where great herds and predators roam between the red sands of the Kalahari & the grand channels of the Okavango, Chobe & Linyanti rivers.
The appeal of Chobe is the wide diversity of habitat - from vast grasslands to marshes and lush riverine forests, attracting large herds of elephant to the region. Cruising on the beautiful Chobe River at sunset as the last of the birds come in to roost, is a great experience.
A Chobe safari also costs less than the Okavango, as there are usually no air charters involved, unless one is visiting the camps around Savute.
