Styled around the local bushveld beat, the architecture of River House blends in with the African vibe. The main structures are under thatched roofs, while an interesting combination of corrugated iron, steel and terracotta tiled roofs cover the balconies and verandas. Although the building is relatively new, the incorporation of unique character pieces and collectibles into the construction is an interesting feature of the design.
A wooden deck has been constructed down at the river from which guests can observe the variety of animals and birds. The big five are regularly sighted from here. Hippo, buffalo, elephant and various antelope often visit the property to graze the lawn and browse the shrubs. The riverbank is out of bounds to all, as visitors are valued more as guests than croc food.
