Plettenberg Park Attractions
Plettenberg Park has outstanding views from the rocky shores and turbulent seas that offer an excellent platform from which to view the Humpback Whales that visit this stretch of coastline in winter as well as the schools of Dolphin that frolic in the waves year round. Wide open spaces play an important role at Plettenberg Park, not only in terms of the panoramic views across the Indian Ocean and the sprawling savannah behind, but also within the architecture of the hotel itself. The park abounds with wildlife and birdlife with Grysbok, Duiker, mongoose, Dassies (rock rabbit), baboons, Bushbuck, Cape Clawless Otter as well as several species of snake. Over 65 bird species of birdlife have been 'spotted' on the reserve including Loerie, Herons, Falcons, Crowned Eagles, Spotted Eagle Owls, Giant Kingfishers, Sunbirds, Shrikes, Cormorants, and of course seagulls.

Plettenberg Park Facilities
There are log fires and deep softly upholstered chairs to sink into. The furniture doesn't dominate, nor the colours compete and only natural fabrics are used. The interior of the hotel has an Afro-Colonial look, which is very contemporary reflecting the philosophies of the nineties - comfort, restrain, romance and above all, understatement. The Lake House architecture is refreshingly simple, with high ceilings and a skylight running the length of the extended entrance hall, wall-to-wall windows and wide terraces. The original ‘lake house’ consists of 4 bedrooms of which 2 overlook the sea and 2 facing the inland lake. A new wing with 5 large rooms with spectacular views over the ocean has just been completed bringing accommodation to 9 rooms in total. The rooms in the new wing have wooden decks offering unrivalled views of this beautiful coastline. The extra-large wooden beds (mostly doubles) have embroidered sheets. White walls with ample cupboard space, a fireplace, coffee table, reclining armchairs and a large bathroom (mostly with shower and tub) make up the room. All the rooms have Television, a mini bar and a hi-fi (CDs are available from reception). The bathrooms have twin washbasins and a range of toiletries is provided.
