In the south of Kenya lie a range of beautiful hills that resemble a line of pyramids. Each night they are stained a delicate shade of pink by the setting sun, and hidden amongst the foothills lies Ol Donyo Wuas, an oasis of comfort and elegance within two hundred and fifty thousand acres of exclusive wilderness.

There are 300 species of birds to be seen, as well as "the big five" for game watchers. Also in the area are gazelle, reed buck, bat-eared fox, eland, and the rare oryx and gerenuk.

Built as a private home, the lodge consists of seven individual cottages and a beautiful, centrally positioned dining room. All have en-suite bathrooms, electric lighting, an open fireplace and verandah with panoramic views over the plains to the snow-capped peaks of Kilimanjaro.

At Ol Donyo Waus you can head out on foot, on horseback or in open-top 4WD vehicles, searching the plains for oryx, gerenuk, zebra, eland, giraffe and wildebeest and always on the lookout for lions and cheetah.
