Ngala is the Shangaan word for `lion`, and there is no shortage of these cats here - few visitors to Ngala depart without at least one sighting of lions. Huge breeding herds of elephants and most of the game animals are found here, and a walk or game drive in the camp's vicinity may reveal Giraffes, the elusive Leopard, Cheetah, large herds of Buffalo, White Rhino, Spotted Hyena and Blackbacked Jackal. More than 350 species of bird find sanctuary at Ngala.
