TRAVEL: NAMIB DESERT
The largest sand dunes on earth occur at Sossusvlei in
the heart of the Namib. Rising almost 1000 feet high,
these ochre colored sands draw travelers with their mystical
beauty and grandeur. Believed to be the oldest desert
in the world, the Namib also comprises the lunar landcapes
of the Naukluft mountains interspersed by vast sweeps
of red sands and dry grasses.
