This is a birder's paradise, with over 400 species recorded. In addition, the area is host to about 30,000 Kafue Lechwe, 2,000 Blue Wildebeest and 700 Zebra. Greater Kudu, Bushbuck, Oribi, Hippo, Reedbuck and Waterbuck are also present.
An ornithologist/safari guide will be on hand.
Lochinvar National Park is one of Africa's premier wetlands and has been designated a World Heritage site.
The World Wildlife Fund has entered into a tripartite co-operative with ZAWA & Star of Africa, and has pledged considerable support to the Park. This support will mean improved roads, stepped-up anti-poaching and the re-introduction of some lost wildlife species.
Its an exciting time at Lochinvar not only because of the above developments but, in addition, all the migrant birds are returning to join their non travelling cousins, to once again blacken the skies with their sheer numbers and delight us with their aerial dances.
