The area is the eastern most tip of the Caprivi Strip - from the air an amazing mosaic of waterways, floodplains and bushveld - on the ground exceptional birdlife, game-viewing and assorted vegetation - and in the waters outstanding fishing opportunities.
Impalila & Susuwe Island Lodge ~ March 2003 – Have received official confirmation that the area in which they are located is the richest in terms of total mammal species diversity. A study conducted by the Namibian Ministry of Environmental Affairs and Tourism has estimated variety in excess of 105 species!

Eight private chalets, elevated within lush riverine forest, offering superb views over either the Mambova rapids or quiet backwaters of the Zambezi River. Each chalet is luxuriously appointed with en-suite bathrooms and a choice of either king-sized double bed or twin beds, equipped with an overhead fan, hairdryer, mosquito nets and private deck.
The Main complex facilities include swimming pool, bar, curio shop, reference library, lounge and dining area - all built under the canopy of an ancient baobab tree.

Guests may choose how they spend their leisure time and apart from our luxurious accommodation and culinary delights, we offer them a wide variety of activities. A sunset game cruise on the Chobe River, fly-fishing the Mambova rapids for the rapacious Tigerfish or bream (catch & release only), guided walks on the island including visits to cultural villages and a 2000 year-old baobab tree, from where the meeting of all four countries and two rivers can be witnessed, mokoro (dugout canoe) trips in the quiet backwaters, or just pampered relaxation.
Bird-watching - some of Africa''''''''s rarest birds are spotted here.
Day trips to Victoria Falls and scenic flights over the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers, can be arranged.
