Hatari Lodge Facilities
Hatari offers 8 comfortably furnished rooms, each with an open fireplace and a spacious bathroom en suite. Each room has been lovingly furnished and decorated in the modern retro style, giving tribute to the 60’s and 70’s - the time of "Hatari!" and the beginning of safaris in Tanzania. There is a long bar, which can be accessed from both in-and outside, as well as a small, but informative library. The breakfast terrace, offers impressive views of Mt Meru and Kilmanjaro. Directly below the terrace, lies the Momella clearing, which can also be reached via a boardwalk. A viewing platform offers the opportunity to watch animals from close by, and to enjoy classic sundowners, with Kilimanjaro in the background. Every day buffaloes and waterbuck feed here. Warthogs dig around in the ground or mow the lawn, water birds enjoy the swampy areas and numerous giraffes come to visit at the doors of the lodge.
