The cheetah is Africa's rare and beautiful cat, and rare beauty is what you will find at River Lodge. The lodge is a blend of African culture, together with exclusivity, colonial style and elegance.

Nestled in the shade of ebony trees and overlooking the Sand River, you will find River Lodge, with eight luxurious suites each with their own private plunge pools. The air-conditioned suites all have en-suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers. African colours, textures and shapes adorn the rooms and reflect Africa’s culture and mood. In the main area of the lodge, teak dining furniture, deep sofas covered in the finest linens and ornaments originating from the furthest corners of Africa create a welcoming and relaxed ambience.

Each day is different, every experience a new one . . . Game Drives:- This is "Big Seven" country, and the area is world-renowned as the best venue for close up sightings of Africa's great cats - lion, leopard and cheetah. Open vehicle game drives twice a day with professional rangers and trackers allow you to experience wildlife at its finest.. Game Drive surprise:- As part of the greater Kruger National Park conservancy, River Lodge presents surprises in the form of the rare King cheetah, or one of Kruger's "Big Tusker" elephants. Relax at the Lodge:- A lazy afternoon siesta, suntan around the pool or a visit to our interestingly appointed curio shop which houses all that a discerning "bush shopper" may require is essential before the excitement of your early evening game drive or exciting bush walk. Evenings around the Boma:- A reed-enclosed boma with a lit fire is available for your evening entertainment. Walking Safaris:- An experienced ranger and tracker will lead you on the ultimate bush experience along the river in search of hippo and crocodile as well as the abundant birdlife to be found. Swimming Pool:- Suites have private patios with plunge pools which allows you to relax and enjoy the sight of a herd of elephants in the river below or perhaps a hippo surfacing in the waters. There is also a filtered swimming pool in the main public area, as well as a gym and conference room.

Children 0 - 5 years stay free. Children 6 - 11 years pay 50% (sharing with 2 adults). Children over 12 years pay full rate.
