Elephant Watch Safari Camp Location | | |
The Elephant Watch Safari Camp, perched on a sloping riverbank beneath great Kigelia and Acacia trees, is home to some of the largest elephant bulls in Samburu. Greater Kudu and impalas stop by to eat seedpods, as do a multitude of birds and monkeys, and sometimes a leopard comes to hunt in the darkness.

Elephant Watch Safari Camp Attractions |
This intimate experience will take you beyond mere observation of an animal. To be accepted into an elephant herd with such trust is an unforgettable experience. By the end of your Elephant Watch Safari, you will feel as much a part of the elephants lives, as they have become a part of yours. Another special inhabitant of Samburu is the Grevy zebra. Here too is a host of predators, lion, cheetah, hyena, leopard, and on rare occasions, wild dog. We have a special project to protect the graceful Acacia elatior, and we invite guests to join us in some practical conservation to save a tree or two.

Elephant Watch Safari Camp Facilities |
The Camp will be very personal and comfortable and has only four custom made tents with en-suite bathrooms, accommodating a maximum of eight guests. The desert-style tents are wide and breezy, and large colourful cushions with Samburu beadwork and local rugs adorn the furniture made from fallen trees. Every detail of this nomadic camp is designed to blend with the spirit of Samburu. After a day out in the bush, drinks will be served from a deck in a tree overlooking the river. Guests can sip "sundowners" high overhead in the giant Elephant Tree, as they watch elephant families bathe in the river below. Dinner is under a starry sky, and sylph-like genet cats slink past in the shadows. At night fires will be lit and lanterns strung around the dining area. The menus will be a fusion of bush gourmet and cool tropical drinks.
