Desert Rose Attractions
The backbone of Desert Rose is made up of Samburu men and women who have traditionally lived in the valley. Your hosts Emma (Kenyan) and Yoav Chen have lived and operated in Northern Kenya for more than 10 years and enjoy sharing their home and experiences with you. The Samburu People are very much part of the atmosphere. This small community has revered Mount Nyiru as the home of their God “Ngai”, and Yoav and Emma endeavour to help this vanishing culture to maintain its dignity and customs. Even your presence here directly benefits the community, a small fee being paid into the school fund which so desperately needs financial assistance and moral support.

Desert Rose Facilities
The 5 houses accommodating up to 12 people have all been individually designed around various natural features. Each open-air bathroom ensures total privacy and simultaneous exposure to the gifts of nature. Water, so scarce in many places, is plentiful at Desert Rose. The main lounge/dining area is situated with panoramic views of the landscape and the swimming pool is perched on the edge of a cliff. Using home-grown fruits and vegetables, our meals are simple and wholesome.

Desert Rose Additional Information
