The Lodge itself is a charming old farmhouse with a wide veranda where you can sip your sundowners and look out over the magnificent gardens. Watch the playful monkeys cavorting in the giant Turpentine trees. Take in the cool violet blue of the Jacaranda, the shocking pink of the Tibouchina and the scarlet umbrella of the African flame tree. Cybele Forest Lodge Facilities
In striking contrast to the vivid colours and lush greenery of the gardens, the interior of the Lodge is warm, soft and mellow. Furnished throughout with antiques, art and exquisite fabrics, the main house is the place to relax. Accommodation at the Lodge is limited to a few people and each of the various suites, cottages and studios has been individually decorated and personalised. All suites have their own private swimming pools and all cottages and suites have log fireplaces with a plentiful supply of wood, so that in winter you can drift off to the soothing sound of logs crackling in the fireplace. If total privacy is what you are looking for, then try one of our new Paddock Suites. Situated with a stunning view over the mountains, forests and meadows, these spacious thatched suites offer great comfort and the ultimate in luxury accommodation. Comprising a main bedroom and bathroom, an upstairs gallery with extra beds, and a sun terrace.

Cybele Forest Lodge Additional Information
To help you work up an appetite, the Lodge has several mountain bikes and its own riding stables with a groom who will escort you on your ride at whatever pace you choose. This is a birdwatchers delight and there are many different varieties to be seen. Borrow some tackle and try your hand at catching some plump rainbow trout from the river which is stocked for the use of Cybeles guests. Only a short distance away, over the mountains of Cybele are the spectacular attractions of the area, such as God's Window, Bourke`s Luck Potholes, the Blyde river Canyon and the famous old gold mining village of Pilgrims Rest.
