Mountains and Mist
BRACING mountain air, majestic granite peaks, lush forests and exotic plants, breathtaking waterfalls, superb views and sublime relaxation await the traveler to the beautiful Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe.

With its verdant valleys, prolific birdlife, trout fishing and fine golf courses, the Highlands are a natural lure for the visitor. Hotels with an ambiance and architectural style dating back to the days of colonialism, welcome the visitor with warmth and fine hospitality.
Adding to the attractions are leisurely walks over hill and dale, hikes along mountain paths with each bend opening up to another magnificent vista, horse and pony trekking and of course, the deeply satisfying enjoyment of trout fishing in the crystal clear streams and bubbling brooks.
Among the spectacular waterfalls to visit are the Pungwe (243 m high) and the Mutarazi (762 m high), dropping into deep-forested gorges, where rock pools abound and beckon.
This eastern extremity of Zimbabwe is quite unlike anything else in the country - lavishly green, a mild climate and a gentle tapestry of misted peaks, downs, dells and dales.
It is also the birthplace of rivers and cascades, a paradise for nature-lovers, and with its stunningly clear night skies, offers rich rewards for those with the celestial urge to stargaze. The visitor can choose to air charter directly into the Eastern Highlands, or to drive there from Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe.
