Namibia's Friendly Capital City and Economic Heart
THE capital of this diverse country is the bustling, cosmopolitan city of Windhoek - the ideal starting point for any adventure to Namibia.

Here, German colonial buildings, such as the Tintenpalast (parliament buildings) and the Alte Feste (old fort) stand alongside modern office blocks. In the streets, executives rush past Herero women in their striking Victorian-style dress, while the pavement cafes serve German delicacies and beers. Travelers arrive in this friendly, relaxed city at the International Airport, and overnight in one of the city's fine hotels, before leaving on early morning charter flights to the Namib Desert or elsewhere in Namibia. Note that most of these charters leave from the city's second airport at Eros.
