Club Makokola is situated north of Mangochi on the southern shore of Lake Malawi, a luxury lakeside resort in the heart of Africa. It is 4 hours drive from Lilongwe or a 35 minute flight.
Malawi is a landlocked country of great natural beauty in East Central Africa at approximately 15 degrees south and 35 degrees east. It is bordered by Tanzania to the north and north east, Zambia to the west and Mozambique to the south east, south and south west. It is a small, long, narrow country lying north to south. It is approximately 850kms long and 160kms wide. It is at the southern end of the Great Rift Valley and contains Lake Malawi which is the southernmost lake in the series of lakes marking the Valley's route south from the Red Sea.

Malawi is a very beautiful country, featuring mountains, plateaux, forests, rivers and lowlands, a variety of game and, of course, Lake Malawi, with its crystal clear fresh waters and sandy beaches, the third largest lake in Africa.

Club Makokola is situated on the beachfront with accommodation offered in twin rooms on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. The hotel has been refurbished and has two swimming pools and al fresco dining area overlooking the lake.
The hotel also has a squash court, two tennis courts, and a mini soccer field. The brand new Mlambe Golf Club - a 9 hole, 3 par course, beautifully sited adjacent to the hotel in a grove of Baobab trees with spectacular water hazards.

Non motorised water-sports equipment is available free of charge and motorised water-sports equipment can be hired at extra cost. Sailing excursions can be arranged from the hotel. Or don mask and snorkel and discover the technicolour world of the Lake's tropical fish.
All water sports are available, from fishing to para sailing to diving. Sailing safaris may be organised to the islands in the Lake Malawi National Park.
