Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge is situated in the remote northern wilderness of the Sabie Sand Game Reserve on the banks of the largest lake in the reserve. The Lodge borders the Kruger National Park to the east with Mala Mala to the South. By road it is approximately five and a half hours drive from Johannesburg. Meals are served in either one of the two bomas or inside the restaurant. Our underground wine cellar, stocked with selected South African and imported wines, adds a special something to the unique Mediterranean/African cross-culture cuisine that the lodge is famous for. Birdlife abounds throughout the lodge gardens and a hide provides an excellent site for watching various game during the day. The lodge seems to melt into the surrounding trees, rendering you invisible to the game gathering on the open plain coming to drink in the coolness of the evening.

Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge offers exclusive accommodation in spacious stylish individually decorated suites. Each of the 8 suites have a private swimming pool framed by spacious timber decks that overlook the lake, with superb views of the surrounding bush and wildlife. All rooms have imported mosquito nets, pure cotton bed linen, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, a bath tub, indoor and outdoor showers, fireplace, minibar, hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities. Each suite can accommodate up to two extra beds for children under the age of 12 years. The Lodge unfolds around a main lounge and dining area and has a traditional Boma for starlight dinners. The crystal clear swimming pool has a large deck with comfortable loungers for those who want to soak up the African sun. The resourceful library enriches the phenomenal close encounters with the wildlife and to further unwind into the surrounding harmony, guests may enjoy a true African massage experience in the privacy of their own suites.

Apart from sightings of the Big Seven, on both morning and evening game drives in open land rovers with a professional game ranger, there is also the alternative option of a viewing hide where guests can enjoy natural game spotting and bird sightings at their leisure. A bush walk is perfect for the more energetic guests, during which you can learn more about the African wilderness. With the dust of the day settled and a lifetime of memories packed into one short day, dwell on your experience as you cool off in the crystal clear pool or bask on the sundeck with an iced drink. Or simply enjoy a perfect sunset from your terrace as the horizon captures that special moment when the evening sun bids farewell in a blaze of red.
