Historic Belvidere Manor was acquired by Thomas Duthie from George Rex, the Squire of Knysna, in 1834. The restored Belvidere House is now the centre of gracious hospitality and charm, and celebrated its 150th anniversary in the year 2000.

Guests staying at Belvidere Manor are accommodated in rural Cape style cottages, each one beautifully appointed with views across lush gardens towards the lagoon. The cottages have a comfortable living room with an open fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and one, two or three bedrooms with bathrooms en suite, telephones and satellite television.
Savor farmhouse breakfasts on the veranda, light lunches poolside and dine by candlelight, where the glow of polished yellowwood and Cape antiques creates a warm ambience. The excellent menu offers local delicacies such as Knysna oysters and Karoo lamb. End the evening with a nightcap in the intimate Bell Tavern, situated in the original farmhouse.
