SAFARIS AT TENTED CAMPS A Tented African Safari camp is for many travellers the most ideal safari experience, combining the romance of Africa under canvas with luxury accommodation, fine meals and excellent game viewing opportunities. Similar in price to a safari lodge, tented camps are generally in more remote regions of Africa - indeed, nearly all Botswana camps are tented as no permanent (ie brick and mortar) structures are permitted in the wilderness areas. Most are small camps, with between four and eight large Meru-style tents. The tented bedrooms have an attached private bathroom and viewing deck overlooking the plains. The more luxurious tented camps have a swimming pool alongside the main lodge, where guests gather for sundowners and meals. Tented safari camps operate on a Fully Inclusive Basis, which includes all meals, game drives, bush walks etc. Most camps include local wines, beers and beverages in the tariff.
