SAFARIS AT PERMANENT LODGES OR CAMPS An Africa Lodge Safari provides the traveller with great comfort, facilities and experience. A safari lodge - unlike a safari tented camp - is usually a permanent structure of stone, bricks, wood and topped with appealing thatch grass. Most safari lodges are in South Africa, Namibia, Kenya and Tanzania. Generally, these lodges are easier to access than tented camps, and many have private air strips or can be accessed by road, making them ideal for self drive safaris in South Africa. Generally, a lodge safari is Fully Inclusive, which means three excellent meals, teas, cakes, snacks and local wines, beers and beverages. Standard Activities usually includes two game drives a day, walking, tracking etc, depending on the lodge. Some of the mid market safari lodges exlude beverages from their rates. Consider the value of these included items - plus the benefit of being in the company of highly trained rangers and trackers - and you will realise that an African lodge safari provides excellent value for money. In most cases, the only extras you will end up paying for are imported and speciality beverages, tips, souvenirs and items of a personal nature.
