Traveling south of Cape Town along either spectacular Chapman's Peak Drive or over Ou Kaapse Weg, one enters an area of the Peninsula which is more rugged and less populated. There are white beaches that stretch for miles, rocky cliffs, charming fishing villages and the penguin colony at Boulders Beach in Simonstown.
