The Mahali Mountains and Katavi are in the Lake Tanganyika region. Katavi is famous for its large herds of buffalo roaming across the grass plains and pursued by lion. The area also offers rain forests which are home to chimpanzees, birding, climbing, fishing and snorkeling in the lakes.
