This area of Tanzania is the most southern of the wildlife preserves of Northern Tanzania. Tarangire is characterized by open grassy savannah and baobab trees and is home to all the big game species. Lake Manyara is a mosaic of different habitats - from the wall of the Rift Valley through forests, woodlands, grassland, swamps and lake itself, so the park supports a large number of species. It is an ideal park to visit for a day trip.
