Hermanus has grown into a large seaside town and is the center of the Overberg region. It is also home between June and October to masses of Southern Right whales which gather in the sheltered bays to breed and give birth. There are excellent whale viewing vantage points from the many cliffs that line the coast. Hermanus is perfect for self drive holidays and is a mere two hours from Cape Town.
