This is wild country, all local species occur here in good numbers, and you are absolutely guaranteed to see Elephant, Buffalo, Impala, Zebra, Kudu and the not so common Sable. The extensive birdlife boasts some of the larger species such as Goliath Heron, Great-White Egret, Grey Heron and numerous Fish Eagles.

The camp consists of open chalets, roll down blinds. Fitted with comfort, en-suite showers and flush loos, they provide a fine bush retreat. Apart from an electric fence which surrounds the camp (the purpose of keeping Elephants away from the newly planted trees), animals move regularly through the grounds. It is therefore that a guard patrols the area at night to keep any dangerous creatures at bay. A large deck, dining room and bar are located at the main building, all affording an excellent view of a small bay. A wonderful giant teak table is the venue for delicious meals, all prepared by the local expert chefs.
Safety is of prime concern and at night you will be escorted back to your lodging.

An armed game guard leads 3 hour morning walks into the Matusadona National Park. A short boat ride, then a drive bring you to the beginning point of the walk. It is a special experience, as you are able to approach game more easily and to examine smaller things from closer quarters.
Game drives are conducted in the morning and afternoon in open 4x4 vehicles. This is the best time to spot the great diversity of Matusadona's animal and bird life. Fishing expeditions, lake cruises and canoeing are some of the other excellent pastimes to be enjoyed at Kipling's Camp.
