▼ ATTRACTIONS
This is a labyrinth of luxuriant vegetation, all forming a diversity of habitats that support an enormous variety of wildlife. The vast area has unspecified numbers of both, plains game such as Tsessebe, Wildebeest and Zebra, and browsers such as Kudu, Impala, Eland and Bushbuck. In the marshy areas Waterbuck and Lechwe are numerous. In Mana Pools you are certainly in for a treat when it comes to predators. Lion, Leopard, Hyena and Wild Dog are easily spotted. For the birdwatcher, the floodplain and flanking bush host one of the greatest varieties of birds in the world - more than 380 species of woodland and waterbirds.

▼ FACILITIES
The camp consists of ten twin-chalets with the option of doublebeds. Each chalet is equipped with en-suite flush loo and shower. A unique feature is that the chalets are open with 'wire windows' to keep the animals out, however mosquito nets are provided. The camp is not fenced off, so animals are free to come and go as they please. There is a special bath and toilet on the edge of the river which has only three walls, the fourth being the stunning view of the Zambezi as the river flows by. The main complex is situated to make the most of the wonderful view of the Zambezi and surrounding bush. A bar and sitting area is the venue for wholesome camp meals. After dinner, armed guides are available to walk you back to your rooms. It is not advisable to walk around the camp alone at night.

▼ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Game walks depart in the mornings and last for about three hours. This form of game viewing gives a good understanding of the delicate ecosystem of the area. Game drives depart twice daily - in the morning and evening. For the fishermen, Ruckomechi practises `catch and release` to ensure that fish, which are not trophy size are released to protect the future stock. Each day a pontoon trip departs, taking guests up the river, to view game and birdlife. Canoeing trips are possible from the camp in the afternoons.
