Kwandwe is yet another example of far-sighted conservation. The dream of American philanthropist Carl de Santis 16 000 hectares on the historical Great Fish River have been restored and restocked with game, including The Big Five - a remarkable feat when you consider how long ago wildlife roamed the area.
Also roan antelope, kudu, springbok and impala.
A paradise for bird watchers, the Fish Eagle and Blue Crane amongst many.
Immensely rich in history, the area was the site of many historical battles between early South African settlers and indigenous inhabitants.

Nine luxurious suites feature bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, separate toilet, twin basins, plunge pools, personal bars, salas and covered verandas. The decor is African-inspired, with earth-toned fabrics, indigenous timber and early settler antiques and artifacts. Each suite has a private thatched observation deck overlooking the Fish River.
Pan African cuisine can be served on your private deck or enjoyed under a canopy of stars in our firelit boma. Alternatively, meals can be taken in the sociable ambience of our spacious dining area.
Guest areas continue the African theme. They are spacious, with generous wrap-around viewing decks leading from the dining room, bar and lounge areas.
A well stocked boutique caters for guests shopping needs, including innovative and unusual gifts for family and friends.
Kwandwe Private Game Reserve is ideal for small conferences and exclusive business meetings.
