Spurred northwards by the aching dryness of the Kalahari, massive herds of animals congregate along the sumptuous and cooling foodplains of the Chobe River. Legions of Elephants wallow in the marshlands of the Chobe, joining squadrons of multicoloured birds that hover around the islands. Streams of Buffalo, Pods of Hippos and rarer species such as Suni, Puku and Red Lechwe, occupy the river banks.

The Savute Elephant Camp is a tented camp in true African style with all the comfort you could wish for. Each of the air conditioned 12 twin-bedded luxury units is en suite with individual gas geysers, `his and hers` vanity units and own private viewing deck. 110v/220v plugs for electric razor are standard features of each tent. The public area consists of a tastefully furnished dining room and lounge area with open fireplace, fully stocked bar and air conditioned library with 24 hour internet access, VHS and monitor multisystem equipment, slide projector and screen. A laundry service is available.

Early morning and late afternoon game drives in open Land Rovers are conducted from the Lodge. Game flights in a helicopter or fixed wing aircraft are additional and must be booked in advance.
